Over-running engineering works at Wigan Wallgate station have seen several trains cancelled today. Some lines are blocked after work wasn't completed in time.

It means a rail replacement bus service is place for some Northern services. In a statement the rail company said: "Wigan North Western to Stalybridge services will terminate/start at Wigan Wallgate.

Blackpool to Liverpool services will run between St Helens Central and Liverpool Lime Street only. "Customers can travel from Manchester stations to Preston for rail replacement services.

Services from Wigan Wallgate are not affected."
