While she was also a fan of comedy series The Kumars at No. 42 - even going so far as to do impressions of the characters for her guests - another show frequently topped her list due to a personal connection with the family who own the filming location.The Telegraph reported that the late Queen was a massive fan of Downton Abbey - and delighted in pointing out any historical inaccuracies.
Fans of the hit Netflix series The Crown will recognise Lord Porchester, or 'Porchie'. For those needing a refresher, he was one of The Queen's closest friends and served as her racing manager.
So how was he connected to Downton Abbey? He lived in and owned Highclere Castle, the primary filming location for the series, when he became the 7th Earl of Carnarvon when his father died.
