Pupils at Newmains Primary and St Brigid’s Primary are on song with original releases

Pupils from two primary schools in Newmains have produced their own songs with the help of a community music charity.P7 youngsters at Newmains Primary and St Brigid’s Primary participated in the Hear Our Voice programme.

They worked with Reeltime Music in Newarthill to create their own songs, in a programme funded through Creative Scotland’s “Youth Music Initiative” fund.The programme was created by Kirk Richardson, lead officer at North Lanarkshire Instrumental Music Service, in partnership with Reeltime Music to give access to pupils to learn songwriting, instrumental, and music technology skills and have them working as a team to make their own song round a theme of their choosing.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
