Prince Harry's "unfounded security fears" are denying his father, King Charles, the joy of fulfilling a heartfelt desire, says a Royal expert.

It has been reported Harry, who shares a strained relationship with his father, declined an invitation from the King to stay at a Royal residence during his recent visit to the UK earlier this month. The offer was reportedly turned down due to the lack of security provision and the fact he would be in a "visible location with public entrance and exit points and no police protection," reports the Mirror.Harry has been involved in a protracted legal battle with the Home Office since it was decided in 2020, upon his move to the United States, he would no longer receive the "same degree" of publicly-funded protection when in the country.

Although the Duke's case has been dismissed, there are now plans for an appeal. The High Court heard during the case Harry feels his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, cannot "feel at home" in the UK if their safety cannot be guaranteed.

Since relocating to the US, Archie and Lilibet have only visited the UK once, with Charles having only one in-person meeting with his youngest granddaughter.Royal biographer Ingrid Seward has suggested security concerns could be a significant obstacle to a Royal reunion.
