Prince George to be a 'focus' at his grandad King Charles's Coronation

With just over two months to go until the King Charles is formally crowned in London, many members of the public have been left wondering what to expect from the upcoming Coronation.

With reports from the palace indicating it will be a pared down version of the ceremonial pomp seen in previous years, it’s clear that this year’s coronation will be a far cry from the lavish ceremony enjoyed by Queen Elizabeth all the way back in 1953.

Despite some clear changes however, one thing that will remain the same, is the role played by the heirs to the throne, with Prince George, the second in line behind his father Prince William, expected to take a prominent role in the proceedings, according to one royal historian.

Appearing on the Mail+'s programme Palace Confidential, Dr Tessa Dunlop said: "You want to keep it focused on that line of succession.
