Police appeal after brutal attack on man in Canal Street bar

Police have issued an appeal over a brutal attack on a man in a bar in Manchester's Gay Village. The attack happened at around 1am on Wednesday, December 27 last year, police said.

A man was reportedly assaulted in a bar on Canal Street. He was rushed to hospital with a head injury. Now, nine months on, he is still 'receiving support in relation to the incident', officers added. Police said that although a 'considerable amount of time has passed' the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this stage.

Greater Manchester Police today (September 25) issued an appeal for information over the attack, which included an image of a man they want to speak to about what happened.
