Plumber warns against pouring common kitchen item down the sink - it could be costly

After you've finished cooking, it's tempting to clean up immediately. However, if you've cooked with oil or fat, rushing to wash up could lead to a costly mistake.This might not be immediately apparent, but it will reveal itself over time.

A plumber, known as @dalrod_ on TikTok, shared his experience while fixing an issue at a university accommodation. He demonstrated that the sink wasn't draining properly, showing water still in the sink despite it should have flowed through the pipes.

He mentioned he was going to "have a look at this pipe work underneath", noting it's "rare" to access pipes this easily.He removed the access pipe and drained the system using his flexible bucket, then "drained down the system" and "machined the pipework through to the main stack".

The plumber explained that the machine provides "wall-to-wall cleaning" and "cleans out any solids within the main pipe". After machining the pipe, he "pulled back the cable", revealing: "Look what's on the end.
