An electricity substation serving Wishaw will be upgraded if North Lanarkshire Council agrees.Scottish Power Energy Networks has requested planning permission to overhaul its substation in Gowkthrapple, which will also involve building a new access road and fencing.The development would see the existing substation expanded with new equipment installed on currently empty land at the site, primarily in the form of a 132 kilovolt circuit breaker.Scottish Power Energy Networks is a distribution and transmission network operator responsible for supplying electricity to homes and businesses, owning and maintaining a network of overhead lines and underground cables which spans Central and Southern Scotland, North Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire and North Shropshire.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
