Patient and paramedics among five injured after Glasgow ambulance crashes on way to hospital

An ambulance patient and two paramedics have been rushed to hospital after a horror crash in Glasgow. The vehicle was transporting the casualty to hospital when it was involved in a collision in Dalmarnock at around 7.15pm on Wednesday.The emergency vehicle was left on its side in the middle of London Road, while a red hatchback had its bonnet mangled and debris lay across the street.

The patient on board was quickly transferred to another ambulance before being rushed to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Two ambulance crew members were then taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for a check-up.

Two other patients were also taken to the Royal Infirmary for treatment. The condition of those injured is currently unknown.Cops locked down the road for two hours as they launched their investigation into the smash.

The force confirmed their enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “One of our ambulances which was en-route to hospital was involved in a road traffic collision on London Road, Glasgow at 7.13pm on Wednesday evening.
