Officers are searching for an XL bully that killed another dog at a beauty spot near Greater Manchester. A Staffordshire bull terrier and his owner were attacked by the large 'out of control' dog on the Seat Naze walking path off Burnely Road East in Waterfoot, Rossendale.

Alfie, the Staffordshire bull terrier, sadly died as a result of his injuries. His owner also suffered an injury to her hand, which is not thought to be serious.

Lancashire Police says the owner of the XL bully left the scene with the dog following the incident on Wednesday afternoon (October 23).
