A newly-wed was diagnosed with breast cancer just four months after she tied the knot. Lauren Upshall, 37, said she was the 'fittest and healthiest' she'd ever been and was 'living her best life' when the shock diagnosis came.

She's bravely revealed her story as she gives back to the hospital that treated her through a huge fundraising appeal which is now also helping other women.

Lauren, from Heswall, Merseyside, was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer in November 2021, just four months after marrying husband, Matt.

She had no idea she was living with the condition, which mainly affects women under 40, until she found a lump in her left breast that same month.
