Neighbour from hell pulled flame thrower rival in shocking street feud

A neighbour-from-hell who pulled a flamethrower on his rival has been ordered to stay indoors overnight for the next seven months.Philip White, 33, confronted his neighbour in the street with a knife before going back indoors and returning with an improvised flamethrower.White, who also hurled discriminatory abuse, targeted his neighbours George Nicoll and Lesley Connelly in the street as their long-running feud escalated.But White was allowed to walk free from Dundee Sheriff Court after Sheriff David Hall heard there had been no further incidents and the accused had moved away.White, Arklay Street, Dundee, admitted acting in a threatening or abusive manner on the corner of Kinghorne Road and Carmichael Street on 19 October 2022.

He admitted making threats, brandishing a knife and a lit gas canister. He also admitted two charges of having offensive weapons.Fiscal depute Sarah High told the court: "He has five analogous convictions for threatening or abusive behaviour.

The complainers have lived there for two years."They have had previous issues with the accused and his partner, who are neighbours across the street.

Mr Nicoll was walking his dogs near the accused's home."The accused's partner shouted something from the property. He could not hear what was said, but told her to shut up.
