A much-loved mum died just four days after returning home from a holiday to Egypt. Sandra Phillpott picked up a bacterial infection from an 'unidentified source' while on the dream trip with her twin sister.

She went to a walk-in centre with cold-like symptoms after returning home, but her condition deteriorated and she was then sent to Blackpool Victoria Hospital by ambulance, LancsLive reports.

At first, doctors treated her for a suspected pulmonary embolism but it was later revealed she was suffering from sepsis and tragically died the following morning. Despite ruling quicker treatment would not have saved her life, Mr Wilson says he wants to raise concerns around "the recognition of suspected sepsis, and the need for timely provision of treatment for suspected sepsis".
