This is the mugshot of killer nursery worker Kate Roughley, released as she was sentenced to 14 years for the manslaughter nine-month-old Genevieve Meehan.

The 37-year-old was found guilty of manslaughter following a Manchester Crown Court trial. She swaddled the infant in a blanket, before strapping her face down onto a bean bag while she was in her care at Tiny Toes Nursery in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, in May 2022.

The beloved tot died from a combination of asphyxia and 'pathophysiological stress'. Following a four-week trial, Roughley was unanimously found guilty of manslaughter by jurors on Monday (May 20).

She denied the offence; and an alternate offence of child cruelty.
