Much-loved Northern Quarter café Takk suddenly closes with notice placed on shutters

A much-loved city centre café appears to have been closed and seized by its landlord. Shutters have been lowered and a forfeiture notice has been placed on the front of Takk on Tariff Street, in the Northern Quarter.

The notice prohibits entry to the property unless with consent. Takk, which is the Icelandic word for thank you, opened in January 2013 and specialised in lighter roasts which are popular in Nordic countries, including Denmark, Norway and Iceland.

No unauthorised persons are permitted entry unless with prior consent and knowledge of clearway debt squared or the landlord/managing agent. “All enquiries should be made to the below office.” The notice has been enforced by Clearway on behalf of Kamani Commercial Property Limited.
