Motorcyclist dies after horror crash involving bin lorry on East Lancs Road
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA motorcyclist has died after a horror crash involving a bin lorry on the East Lancashire Road. Emergency services descended on the scene at around 6.35am on Thursday (May 9) to reports the motorbike rider had collided with a refuse lorry on the westbound carriageway.
The rider of the bike, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been identified and are being supported by specially trained officers, Merseyside Police said.
The busy main road was closed off between Moorgate Road and the slip road for the M57, near Knowsley in Merseyside amid investigations.
The driver of the bin lorry stopped at the scene and is currently assisting police with ongoing investigations.
