Shoppers at Morrisons will soon notice a major change at their stores nationwide, following a successful trial of measures that could be the secret to keeping the kids entertained while parents do the weekly shop.

The supermarket chain is rolling out a new experience for children at their stores, with child-sized trolleys and checkouts, after a popular trial of these miniature measures at a Morrisons in Shrewsbury.

The child checkouts will be run by staff, who will walk the mini-shoppers through using the checkout. During the trial, a sign next to one of the child-only tills read: "At this child friendly till, your children are able to scan your shopping through the till for you.

The checkout operator is there for guidance. We hope you enjoy the experience. Please be patient, children at work."
