Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.

The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $3.1 billion.

More than 100,000 DWP benefit claimants at risk of losing claim within days

Legacy benefit claimants are at risk of losing access to their payments. It comes as the next stage of the Universal Credit migration begins on Monday, September 2.

It will involve those claiming income-based Jobseeker Allowance (JSA) who will be sent out special letters by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), informing them that their benefit is ending and asking them to instead apply for Universal Credit.

It is understood that more than 800,000 migration notices have been sent out since March 2024 with nearly 185,000 losing their payments since July 2022 as a result of not completing their transfer.

The government has highlighted that in order to continue receiving financial support, those who claimed JSA will need to change their claim to Universal Credit.
