Rutherglen and Hamilton West MP Michael Shanks has issued a message to constituents after being promoted to the Labour frontbench.The Lanarkshire MP, who was appointed in October following a by-election triggered by the actions of Margaret Ferrier who broke Covid regulations, was named shadow Scotland Office minister.Shanks will work under shadow Scotland secretary Ian Murray, who has been in the role since 2020.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
