In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have kickstarted their four-day visit to Colombia, with the couple beginning their trip by meeting Vice President Francia Marquez in capital city Bogota on Thursday, 15 August.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped back from their roles as senior royals in 2020, touched down in Bogota on Thursday morning where they joined Vice President Francia Marquez and her husband, Rafael Yerney Pinillo, for a breakfast meeting.

A lip-reading expert has reportedly revealed a subtle interaction shared between the Sussexes as they greeted fans. According to the Mirror, professional lip reader Nicola Hickling deciphered Meghan's whispered command to Harry, 39, with the mum-of-two reportedly saying "hand", to which he responded: "Here you go." Their itinerary included a stop at the Colegio Cultura Popular children's school in Bogota, where they were shown around by the school's principal, Leonel Umana Parra, and student Jose David.

Harry charmed onlookers by attempting to count in Spanish and reportedly discussing his young family, Archie, aged five, and three year old Lilibet.

According to Nicola, he told the crowd: "I have young children and they're not on social media." For the occasion, Meghan, 43, exuded elegance in a £598 Orlinda vest by Veronica Beard which complemented by Harry's sharp navy suit.
