Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known professionally as Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, and television judge. After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager.

Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson under her birth name in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations and she subsequently began working with producers Glen Ballard, Dr. Luke, and Max Martin.

After adopting the stage name Katy Perry and being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed their "clash of lifestyles" as they attended Katy Perry's final Las Vegas residency gig over the weekend.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took a private jet with some of their A-lister pals including Cameron Diaz, Zoe Saldana and Bumble dating-app founder Whitney Wolfe, the Mirror reports.Once at the concert, they took their seats next to an even bigger icon - Celine Dion.

But it seemed Meghan didn't stay seated for long as she jumped to her feet to dance along to hit songs such as California Gurls and Last Friday Night.

In images obtained by the Mirror, the 42-year-old was seen enjoying herself while Harry bore a "sleepy expression" as he slumped back in his seat, according to body language expert Judi James.Speaking to the Mirror, Judi said: "This is a very un-royal outing for Harry and Meghan and it's clearly Meghan who always slides into the celebrity-style appearances better than Harry. "In an audience going wild for Katy Perry's songs, standing up from their seats to dance with their arms in the air, it's Meghan who excels at being a fan rather than just a royal."Meghan stood up and smiled for most of the concert as she clapped along to her favourite Katy Perry songs but the duke remained seated for the majority of the gig.She was also seen enthusiastically chatting away to her girl pals at the concert while Harry looked bored.
