Today, Megan Thee Stallion released a new single, “B.I.T.CH.,” which serves as a preview for her upcoming project, Suga. The Helluva Beats-produced track samples 2Pac’s “Ratha Be Ya Nigga,” which in turn flips “I’d Rather Be With You” by Bootsy Collins and his group, Bootsy’s Rubber Band.

On “B.I.T.C.H.,” Megan addresses relationship problems: Megan broke down how the song was made in an interview with Beat 1’s Zane Lowe: “Ratha Be Ya Nigga” appears on 2Pac’s 1996 double album, All Eyez on Me, and is produced by Doug Rasheed.

Its beat is built around Collins' frequently-sampled “I’d Rather Be With You.” Dozens of hip-hop songs have flipped “I’d Rather Be With You” since its release in 1976.

Notable examples include N.W.A’s “I’d Rather Fuck You,”, Beyoncé’s “Be With You,” and more recently, Childish Gambino’s “Redbone.” Elsewhere in the Beats 1 interview, Megan spoke about working with Pharrell Williams, SZA, and Juicy J for Suga.
