It means students could be owed hundreds of pounds. The money saving expert urged everyone with a loan to make sure they have paid the correct amount as they could be eligible to claim the money back.
On Tuesday's episode of the Martin Lewis Money Show on ITV, Mr Lewis explained how people can check to see if they are owed money.
He said there is no limit on how far back you can reclaim student loan over payments, and many of his viewers had already been in touch to say they had managed to get hundreds of pounds back.
