Jason Blum’s Blumhouse and James Wan’s Atomic Monster, the two preeminent production companies working in horror, have completed their long awaited merger, Blum announced on Tuesday. “Our deal is ….
Done. @blumhouse and #AtomicMonster have officially joined forces,” the producer wrote on X, in a message accompanied by a reel showcasing both companies’ libraries. “The preeminent homes for horror are now under one roof.” The merger news comes just ahead of release of Night Swim, the supernatural horror pic marking the feature directorial debut of Bryce McGuire, which is produced by both companies.
Starring Wyatt Russell and Kerry Condon, the film hits theaters via Universal Pictures on January 5th. Previously teaming on last year’s horror hit M3GAN, the companies were first reported as being in advanced talks to merge in November 2022.
Under the merger, the companies will continue to operate as separate labels, with each maintaining its own creative autonomy and brand identity.
