Manchester United youngster Sam Mather has signed a new long-term contract with the club. Mather's previous deal expired in June 2025, meaning he'd entered the final year of his contract, and he's now signed fresh terms that will ensure his future beyond next summer.
The youngster, 19, was brought to the United States for the first-team's pre-season tour this summer and spent time with Rochdale on a flexi-loan in the second half of 2023/24.
United created a flexi-loan system last year, which allows youngsters to gain senior experience whilst remaining involved in the day-to-day environment at Carrington, and Mather scored twice in 10 appearances for Rochdale, who finished in midtable in the National League.
