A man has been arrested a week after police dramatically swarmed the M62 to 'bring a car to a stop'. A number of police vehicles descended on the busy motorway last Wednesday afternoon (March 6) to help stop the vehicle travelling in between J11 for Birchwood and J12 for Eccles.

Officers from Merseyside Police and Greater Manchester Police used specialist tactics to ram the car and block it between a number of police vehicles, to eventually bring it to a stop.

Pictures from the scene show the black vehicle wedged in between two Matrix vehicles from Merseyside Police. The force has since confirmed a man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
