Man among five killed in tragic M6 head-on crash 'after driving wrong way' named for first time

A man who was among five people killed in a head-on crash on the M6 has been named by police as Richard Woods. Mr Woods was driving a Skoda on the motorway near Tebay services in Cumbria on October 15 when the car collided with a Toyota.

The 40-year-old was sadly pronounced dead on the scene. Police believe Mr Woods, from Cambridgeshire, had been reported as driving the wrong way down the northbound carriageway in the Skoda.

Cumbria Police said he has now been formally identified. The driver has been formally identified as Richard Woods, aged 40, from Cambridgeshire." Yesterday, the families of the four others who died in the crash paid tributes to their loved ones.
