A derby double is Liam Scales' target as he prepares to do battle with another rival on the international stage.Six days on from Celtic swatting Rangers aside in the Scottish Premiership, the defender will line up for Ireland when they host England in the Nations League.
Interim boss Lee Carsley takes charge of the Three Lions for the first time against the side he represented as a player, while it's also a first game in charge for new Ireland manager Heimir Halllgrimsson. There's nothing new about the rivalry between the two nations however and Scales reckons he's the first to go from an Old Firm clash into this one.
He likened the rivalries, admitting that neither is just about football and both come with big atmospheres as a result. But the Hoops defender is hoping the outcome is the same as last Sunday as he explained how the preparation for this one is entirely different."Yeah, it's probably never happened before that a player will have Rangers one week and then England the next.
So it's as good as it gets. Hopefully we can do as well as we on the weekend against Rangers. I hope we can bring that in with Ireland against England."It will be the first one I'll have been involved in.
