Lanarkshire mum's skydive raises vital funds for Spina Bifida charity that helped son

A brave South Lanarkshire mum took to the skies in an adrenaline fuelled skydive to raise vital funds for specialist charity Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) Scotland, who provides dedicated support to her family.Jade Montgomery from Hamilton kick-started the new year by taking on a tandem freefall parachute jump at Strathallan Airfield in Auchterarder raising £1,171.25 in the process.Jumping from an exhilarating 10,000ft in the sky and at speeds of up to 120mph, the unforgettable experience was inspired by the support the charity gives to her son.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

He is now seven and in a very short time has been through numerous brain surgeries and procedures.Jade explained: “SBH Scotland helped us as a family.

They explained more about the conditions, helping with strategies to cope and they have been there with us at hospital visits.“On top of that we attend family groups which allow Jaxon to see and learn about others who have the same conditions as him; they send activities home for Jaxon and his little brother Dawson and they’ve organised days out for our family.
