Lanarkshire MSP backs campaign for improved water safety

Lanarkshire MSP Clare Adamson is backing Christopher’s Saving Lives Campaign for improved water safety. Ms Adamson met with the campaign’s co-founder Duncan Spiers, and the MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw is urging Scottish local authorities to consider improved safety equipment and signage around waterways.

Duncan and Margaret Spiers established Christopher’s Saving Lives Campaign in memory of their son Christopher, who tragically lost his life after falling into the River Clyde in 2016.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The unique colour-coding on the rope is designed to counteract vandalism and theft of this crucial safety equipment with purple being Christopher’s favourite colour, and orange being associated with mental health awareness.Ms Adamson convenes the Cross-Party Group on Accident Prevention and Safety Awareness.
