Lanarkshire care home shows flower power as they win national gardening contest
dailyrecord.co.ukA Lanarkshire care home celebrated a blooming great success recently after scooping a prize in a nationwide gardening competition.Rutherglen Care Home, with the help of some very creative residents, entered the 'Advinia in Bloom' competition being run by the care home provider, and won in the 'Queen's Jubilee Garden' category.
The home's activity coordinators had called a residents meeting to decide and plan their entry and they came up with the novel idea of a Queen of Hearts/Alice in Wonderland theme, which proved strong enough to impress the judges and take top honours from out of 36 different entries.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
