Kin star's new Channel 5 crime drama shares first-look
manchestereveningnews.co.ukThe first look at the new crime drama, The Teacher, reveals familiar face Emmett J Scanlan, known for his roles in BBC's Kin and Netflix's Fool Me Once.
This upcoming series, a sequel to the 2022 hit drama that previously starred Sheridan Smith, will focus on a teacher, portrayed by actress Kara Tointon, who becomes embroiled in a "web of desire and deceit" following a student's murder.
Although the Channel 5 production won't premiere until later this year, initial images showcase a star-studded cast, including Kara, Emmett and Coronation Street's Will Mellor.
The synopsis on My5 states: "The Teacher II follows the story of Dani, a teacher who loves her job, she's a real mentor and inspiration to her students, but what she lacks is a properly functioning marriage with real intimacy and mutual desire." The summary explains that lead character Kara finds herself in a predicament when she becomes distracted by a workplace affair.
