The single-day contract signing is all part of a charity auction bid.A copy of his one-day contract and a special Keanu Reeves jersey are bring auctioned off with all proceeds going to the Canadian Mental Health Association of Windsor-Essex.The auction is now live, and the current top bid (at the time of publishing) is placed at CAD $20,000.
You can, however, purchase the contract and jersey immediately for $50,000, ending the auctioning process. The winning bid will also receive special edition cases, along with a photo.A post shared by OHL (@ohlofficial)The signing serves as a full-circle moment for Reeves, who played as a goalie for his high school team in Toronto, and had aspirations to play in the national team before deciding to make the jump to acting.Funnily enough, Reeves’ first feature film role would see him play a hockey player in the Rob Lowe-led sports drama Youngblood.
In other news, Reeves recently spoke out about sustaining a brutal kneecap injury while filming Aziz Ansari’s forthcoming comedy Good Fortune, saying: “It cracked like a potato chip.”He was spotted walking with crutches and an ice pack wrapped to his left knee earlier this year.
