Karen Allen Reveals Why She Was Not Impressed With Her 'Indiana Jones' Role In The Last Movie

However, the 71-year-old actress revealed that she was a bit disappointed with just how little screen time she actually had in the latest Indiana Jones movie, Dial of Destiny. Keep reading to find out more… Speaking to THR, Karen said that she was a bit disappointed in how Marion was represented on screen and wished she had more screen time than she actually did. “When we finished shooting the fourth, there was already talk about there being a fifth and perhaps final episode,” Karen told the outlet. “I was always imagining I would be in it — and I am — but it’s just in a slightly different way than I had imagined.” She then opened up about how, when the project switched hands, her role was greatly reduced which brought on her disappointment. “When Steven [Spielberg] was still going to direct the film, I didn’t have the opportunity to read any of those scripts, although I know that Marion was much more involved in the story at that juncture,” she added. “So I knew James [Mangold] had hired new writers and that there was going to be a whole new approach with a new director and new writers, but I was really going into the unknown.” Karen did admit to being frustrated over it too. “The next thing I knew, I was reading a script that told [Dial of Destiny’s] story, and of course, I was disappointed,” she says. “I had thought that I would be majorly a part of the film, and that was just not the direction they decided to go.” While it wasn’t the path or story she was expecting, Karen did note that it all came together at the end. “I think they had some problems to solve with the story in
