Jesy Nelson was seen getting emotional on a recent livestream following the launch of her latest single, where she opened up to fans about experiencing "a really dark stage" in her life, as she explained she felt like 'not doing music'.The 33 year old singer-songwriter is featured on the newly-released track Mine, which was dropped last week by her beau Zion Foster, 25.This marks another step in Jesy's solo career since she announced her exit from Little Mix in 2020.

After parting ways with the girl group, Jesy launched her debut solo single, Boyz, featuring Nicki Minaj, in 2021. Despite reaching number 4 in the UK charts, Jesy faced backlash over accusations of "blackfishing" in the music video.

She addressed the controversy at the time, saying: "My intention was never, ever to offend people of colour with this video and my song because [...] growing up as a young girl, this is the music that I listened to." In the subsequent year, it emerged that Jesy had split from record label Polydor, with an insider telling the Mirror that they were heading in "different directions".

Her next single Bad Thing, released independently by Jesy, didn't make it onto the charts upon its release last year. Her latest track Mine, which dropped last week has been well received and Jesy reportedly thanked fans for their support during a recent livestream.
