Popular Caribbean restaurant Jerk Junction has opened up an outdoor barbeque space to be able to serve customers for the first time since a devastating fire gutted part of its building.
Emergency services were called to the Chorlton venue on Manchester Road on August 23 after a fire started in the restaurant before spreading to the flats above.
At the time, owners said they were ‘devastated’ by the blaze. But, with the sun out in full force this week, staff at Jerk Junction lit up the oil drums and took to the streets to sell their famous jerk chicken once again - with people lining up for the popular meal. There was a lot of smoke and water damage. We are still trying to figure out the full scope of it. “We just sat down and thought about what we could do to keep the place going in the meantime.
