Good Morning Britain has attracted further controversy with a fresh spate of complaints regarding the presenters' tough questioning of MP Zarah Sultana and the eyebrow-raising interview Ed Balls conducted with his own wife, Yvette Cooper, live on air.

Confirming the deluge of viewer feedback, Ofcom reported receiving 8,419 complaints this week about the episode broadcast on August 5, bringing the total complaints to a staggering 15,621.

The complaints vary in nature; while some pertain to Ed Balls interviewing his spouse, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, on-air, others were lodged in response to what was considered an excessively confrontational interview with Labour MP Zarah Sultana by Ed and co-presenter Kate Garraway.

MP Sultana argued during the intense segment that it is imperative for the government to categorise the recent spate of riots and violent disorder as "Islamophobic" in addition to acknowledging its racist undertones.
