dailyrecord.co.ukFormer Coronation Street star Lucy-Jo Hudson has admitted she has been forced to take on a 'side hustle' as acting roles dried up after leaving the cobbles.The 40-year-old actress, who played Katy Harris in the ITV soap between 2002 and 2005, had her fair share of dramatic plot lines during her time on Corrie.Viewers saw her have an abortion, murder her own dad and then tragically kill herself in shocking scenes.
Lucy-Jo went on to secure a string of roles in other programmes following her being written out of the ITV soap, reports the Mirror.She starred as Rosie in Wild at Heart, Sam in Looking for Eric, Rhiannon in Doctors, among other roles.
Her most recent soap return is in Hollyoaks as Donna-Marie Quinn.Actress Lucy-Jo took to social media to reveal her new career to rake in extra money as she shared a glam snap of herself, writing: "In my industry, it's not easy. "I could audition for 8 jobs and get none, yet I could fall into a job next week, or I might not work for 6 months!
It's not easy but I continue to push as I love nothing more than acting! But while I'm in limbo, I have decided I need a side hustle."She added: "Something that will fit around the kids, that I can take on the road when I'm going to London for castings, something I can keep working on while I get an acting role I love.
