Bryson DeChambeau's switch to LIV Golf is certainly paying off, at least when it comes to his annual earnings.DeChambeau made the move to LIV in the summer of 2022, despite initially stating he would remain with the PGA Tour.
The 30-year-old American faced backlash after signing a contract reportedly worth around £100million.Other golfers such as Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka have also transitioned from PGA to LIV, each securing a hefty wage in the process.
Koepka has the distinction of winning the most LIV titles with four, with the prize money for the competition's events skyrocketing. In its first year, a whopping $255million (£197.4m) was distributed in prize money across eight LIV Golf events, according to National Club Golfer.
This meant that every one of the 52 golfers on the payroll earned at least $1m (£777K) in the first year. As the third season of LIV Golf is in full swing, National Club Golfer disclosed their research into how much each athlete has earned in their entire schedule compared to their earnings at the PGA Tour. The figures reveal that DeChambeau earned a total of $34.4m (£26.8m) across 148 events in the PGA Tour - equating to $232.9K (£181.2K) per event.
