Homeless charity invites council chiefs to spend a night in “horror” hotels

A homeless charity has invited council chiefs to spend a night in one of the city's “horror” hotels after we exposed dire conditions at £200-a-week emergency accommodation.

Homeless Project Scotland penned a personal invite to two local authority bosses responsible for housing Glasgow’s most vulnerable after we told of Marius Samavicius’ depressing two-month stay at the Copland Hotel.

The letter asked Susanne Miller and Jim McBride, chief officer and head of homeless services at Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership, to check in to one of the premises the council uses for emergency cases after Marius documented his filthy room and dirty bed in the Record.
