Miriam Margolyes caused a stir among Harry Potter fans after she harshly criticised adult fans, suggesting they should have "moved on" after reaching puberty and that "it's time to forget about it and go on to other things." The actress - who became a Vogue cover star last year, aged 82 - faced backlash from fans who she then told to "get over it" - but now even her former co-stars are joining the conversation.
Jessie Cave, known for her role as Ron's love interest Lavender Brown in the franchise, has branded Miriam's comments as "terrible".The 36 year old star, who recently attended a Harry Potter convention in Paris alongside fellow cast members including Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), expressed her disappointment: "I think it's terrible.
I really don't like that she said that. It's such an amazing thing that Harry Potter has done." "It's created a fan base that has aged and is still bonded through it and it's passed on to younger generations and that's what is so amazing", reports the Express. "She probably just doesn't understand that or get that.
I think this situation is very unusual," which was met with applause from the audience and support from Devon Murray, who played Seamus Finnigan, sitting next to her.
