Miley Cyrus was recently honored as a Disney Legend for playing the Disney Channel’s iconic pop star Hannah Montana.

The 31-year-old Grammy winner was only 13 when she was cast as Miley Stewart, a teen sensation who hid her offstage identity behind a blonde wig and a stage name.

In the process of landing the role, she beat out some other big stars. Miley grew up in front of our eyes playing Hannah until 2011, releasing music and even starring in a movie inspired by the character.

After that, she went on to launch her solo music career, becoming the sensation she is today. We did some digging to see who else could have been Hannah and discovered five actresses that auditioned for the part before Miley was cast.
