Lucy Letby has been found guilty of murdering seven babies. Following a 10-month trial, the nurse was convicted of the heinous crimes by a jury.
The 33-year-old former neonatal nurse was convicted of seven murders and attempting to murder six others in the neonatal unit of the Countess of Chester Hospital today (August 18).
She was not present as the verdicts were delivered. Here, the Manchester Evening News takes a look at the timeline of Letby's crimes - and when she was finally apprehended.
Lucy Letby begins her first shift as a student nurse at the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital on June 1, 2010. She qualified as a Band 5 nurse, able to look after infants in intensive care, in September 2011. Prior to January 2015, the baby mortality rate at the neonatal unit (NNU) of the hospital was comparable with hospitals up and down the country.
