Florence Welch has disclosed that she recently underwent emergency surgery which “saved [her] life.” Welch revealed the news in an Instagram post explaining the recent cancellation of two Florence and the Machine festival dates in Europe.

The band were forced to pull out of Zurich Open Air Festival and and Rock En Seine, both of which were due to take place this past weekend, on "medical advice." The mention of feet is seemingly a reference to the last time the band had to pull shows, when Welch broke her foot performing in London.

Welch went on to add that she is fit to perform at the last two Florence + The Machine shows of the summer, scheduled to take place on September 1 in Lisbon and the following day in Málaga, Spain, though she might not be as energetic as usual. "But you can do that for me," she wrote.
