Now, one expert has revealed whether the feeling is mutual, by revealing how such pets return affection.While they can't exactly say they love you, cats and dogs can show it in their actions, according to Layla Beakhouse and Catrin George of Animal Friends Pet Insurance.
With both cats and dogs having such contrasting temperaments, but both share some loving behaviours.Cats are known to be aloof and independent creatures, but one way they show the love is through subtle signs like the slow blink, reports the Mirror.
According to the experts, if a cat is staring unblinkingly at someone it can mean they are generally a little weary and are trying to sound them out.However, if you notice your cat blinking slowly while looking at you, it's their equivalent of smiling and means they're happy to be in your company.
