A teenager who was sent home from school over her outfit choice refused to return to the establishment and finished her studies at home.
Karis Wilson was ordered to leave the grounds in February 2021 after the then-17-year-old wore a knee-length black dress over a white top.A female teacher at NorKam Secondary in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, told the schoolgirl that her outfit reminded her of "lingerie" while a male teacher said it made him feel "awkward".Karis, now 20, was so angry and upset by the unfair decision that she decided to finish her education at home.
Her dad was furious when he found out what happened and recorded a Facebook Live to discuss the situation, which was seen by more than 100,000 people, reports the Mirror.Her dad, Christopher, said: "She wasn't wearing it in a sexual manner.
She wasn't wearing it for attention. She normally wears track pants and a hoodie. She had a snowboarding accident a month or two ago and couldn't be active for a while. "She had started going to the gym and feeling better about herself.
