A former Mafia boss has revealed the 'three simple words' that his dad taught him so he would survive in prison. Speaking on the latest episode of Steven Bartlett's hit podcast, The Diary Of A CEO ex-criminal Michael Franzese opened up about working as a 'capo' (captain) in the Colombo crime family.Michael explained how lessons passed down by his father helped him navigate prison and a 29-month spell in solitary confinement, saying: "You know, my father taught me again.
He said, 'Mike, I'm gonna tell you three things that are gonna help you when you go to prison because you're gonna go one day'."He said three words that are gonna go a long way - please, thank you, excuse me.
And he said the reason for that, he said all these guys in prison that never got respect on the street, they want it all in there."One particular crime helped Michael make his name in the crime family, as agents tried to collect their taxes, he would declare bankruptcy, meaning that they wouldn't have to pay.
This continued between 1985 and 1992.He continued: "They want to show they're people, you know, that they're tough guys or whatever.
