Emmerdale’s Lawrence Robb has jet-set hobby that will blow fans away

Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb may be down on the farm wreaking romantic havoc as bad boy Mackenzie Boyd, however in his personal life, he's up in the sky.The 31-year-old has revealed that he's training to be a pilot outside of his time on the ITV soap.

Lawrence, who joined Emmerdale as Mackenzie — Moira's long-lost brother — in 2020, spoke to OK! about his new daredevil hobby which he uses to unwind after a hectic day on set. "I've started training to be a pilot," he says. "It takes 45 hours minimum up in the air and then you hopefully get your licence," he adds. "I just really like the novel idea of being able to say I can fly a plane." As for his other hobbies, Lawrence said that he enjoys playing music, cooking and walking his two sausage dogs when he's not playing Mackenzie on the soap.

Meanwhile, he has no immediate plans to leave the soap. "I’m happy where I am right now," he says. "Mackenzie’s had a cool [story] arc thus far.

I’m excited to show everyone a bit more in the months, if not years to come. Being part of a love triangle, as it were, has been great fun, very juicy." Mackenzie first arrived in Emmerdale to look for his long-lost sister Moira, however his efforts to bond with the iconic Dingle were put on the backburner thanks to his whirlwind of a romantic life.
