Earlier this year, Matthew, 43, announced that he would be leaving the hit ITV soap after almost 20 years as he's "ready for a change".The soap star went on to appear on This Morning in September where he shared the news that he's landed the role of Buddy in the on-stage production of Elf the Musical for its festive run in London.
He went on to say that he was due to start rehearsals for the musical a matter of days after filming his final scenes in Emmerdale.
