Quentin Jerome Tarantino (born March 27, 1963) is an American filmmaker, actor, film programmer, and cinema owner.
His films are characterized by nonlinear storylines, satirical subject matter, aestheticization of violence, extended scenes of dialogue, ensemble casts, references to popular culture and a wide variety of other films, soundtracks primarily containing songs and score pieces from the 1960s to the 1980s, alternate history, and features of neo-noir film.
It took a long time for the bird to cook on Eli Roth‘s horror hit Thanksgiving, but the second helping is coming fast. Sony’s TriStar Pictures and Roth have the murderous John Carver to return in a sequel to the film that grossed $30 million globally in its first two weeks of release with an impressive second week hold at -31%.
Certified Fresh at 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, Thanksgiving is Roth’s highest-rated film to date. TriStar Pictures will release the sequel theatrically worldwide in 2025.
Roth came up with the story with Jeff Rendell, the idea behind Thanksgiving starting when they were both kids going to see slasher films.
It became one of several fake movie trailers between the two features that went into the cult 2007 film Grindhouse by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.
